What do you get when you combine vintage race cars, old camera equipment, and an extremely amateurish photographer? Why, these pictures from the 2001 Porsche Rennsport Reunion that I just found lurking in a folder on my computer.

These were taken at what I believe was the first Rennsport Reunion, an event that is still going strong (you’re welcome, Laguna Seca!). The event was held on July 28, 2001 at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.

All of these pictures were taken with my grandfather’s Yashica J-7, which was actually older than many of the cars in the races. The effect is... magical. Take away the early 2000s safety gear and you could be looking at pictures from the 1960s and 70s.
